Results announced for SPAAR Bylaws vote
SPAAR - 08/19/2024
SPAAR members who are REALTORS® had the opportunity to vote from August 14-16 on potential changes to the SPAAR Bylaws. Below are the vote results as well as a recap of the two actions that were voted upon.
Action 1 focused on the following as related to the SPAAR Bylaws:
- 329 revisions, updates and clarifications to definitions and terms
- Do not alter any operations, policies or otherwise change SPAAR’s governance
- Changes “non-substantive” and are a matter of “housekeeping”
Action 2 focused on the following as related to the SPAAR Bylaws:
Changes that have a tangible impact on SPAAR’s operations and governance structure.
- Update to reflect how affiliates are being billed for membership
- Change to reflect board seats for the chairs of all standing committees
- Update definition of “participant” and “MLS” to align with mandatory changes from NAR settlement
- Add a provision that will allow licensed real estate agents and appraisers who are not REALTORS® to participate in the Regional Multiple Listing Service of Minnesota (NorthstarMLS)
The quorum requirements for a membership vote were met and the following are the results of the votes cast:
Action 1: PASSED with 89.44 % voting in favor
Action 2: PASSED with 66.44 % voting in favor
