A message from Amy Peterson, SPAAR’s 2024 President

Dear Broker,

I hope 2024 has started out with positive energy and results for you and your agents.

As you may have heard, SPAAR's esteemed CEO John Fridlington passed away unexpectedly in early January 2024. SPAAR's staff and volunteer leadership have ensured that members' needs are being met and association business continues in spite of this huge loss in our SPAAR family. A CEO Search Committee made up of SPAAR members has been appointed per SPAAR's succession plan, and we are in the process of hiring a search firm to assist in finding a new CEO to guide SPAAR confidently and successfully into the decades ahead. In the interim, Kara Maurer, SPAAR's CFO, is serving in the role of CEO alongside SPAAR's COO and senior management team.

As the first half of the year continues, I'll be visiting the 12 counties in SPAAR's service area to have coffee with our brokers and members. We know our members are looking at their businesses and engaging with the industry differently since Covid first appeared. These listening sessions will give me the opportunity to meet more of our members and learn how we can continue to add value to the SPAAR membership directly from you and your agents.
