What’s the Word on the Street? Seeking member replies to favorite social media platforms

SPAAR - 04/20/2026

Social media usage continues to grow in real estate, which prompted the Word on the Street question: “What is your favorite social media platform to use for real estate business development, and why?"

According to the National Association of Realtors®, 87% of real estate agents use Facebook and 62% use Instagram. Add to the fact that millennials make up the largest percentage of recent home buyers at 29% so it’s in most agents’ best interest to make social media a key part of their marketing strategy [source: HousingWire].

Platforms are essential for visual listings, targeted advertising and building community connections. YouTube and TikTok are also rapidly growing, high-value platforms for video walkthroughs, market updates and reaching younger buyers.

SPAAR will be hosting a social media panel discussion on Wednesday, May 13, from 9-11am, open to all members. This will be a great opportunity to hear from Realtor® experts who do social media well, and be able to ask questions while learning what tips and tricks work best for them.
