Sue Nichols named SPAAR Hero for August 2019

“Racial controversy in our community is a real thing, and addressing it as Owning Up! does helps to get to the root cause."

SPAAR - 12/06/2020

Grateful for SPAAR Heroes like Sue Nichols who was named SPAAR Hero for August 2019!

Sue brought the idea of an exhibit to the Diversity Committee and the idea took hold. Fast forward to spring 2019 and the Owning Up! exhibit has become a five-panel display that addresses the segregation within the Twin Cities housing market over the years as well as how Realtors® played a part in the divide. Ramifications of the segregation are still apparent throughout the Twin Cities today.

“Happiness in life correlates to making contributions to good causes,” said Sue, who has been a Realtor® for more than 15 years and was named as SPAAR Hero for August 2019. “Racial controversy in our community is a real thing, and addressing it as Owning Up! does helps to get to the root cause. It’s been great that the entire Diversity Committee has supported and embraced this important project.”

Congratulations, Sue, on being named SPAAR Hero for August 2019.
