Stepping into social media, and the tips and tricks to do so

SPAAR - 05/18/2026

Nearly 30 members came together in person and online for a morning of social media on May 13 where member panelists and Realtors® Bryan Clapper, Liz Gust and Cory Malveaux shared their expertise about reaching audiences to discuss real estate. Moderated by Realtor® Ben Smith, the panelists shared their journeys into social media storytelling and gave tips for others who are interested to do the same as well as the kinds of technology and equipment they recommend.

From conversation about what kinds of posts generate interest to taking the first step, the panelists agreed that being authentic is important.

"Show up as yourself because everyone else is taken," said Liz Gust, in talking about authenticity.

All three panelists shared how the everyday tasks in real estate business are examples of content, and shared insights into some of their experiences including what has worked and some things that didn't go as planned.

The event also included Realtor® Chelsea Erickson leading a "how to" session to create posts and reels for Instagram, including some participants creating their first post following the session.

This event was hosted by SPAAR's Communications Committee, which intends to host a similar kind of session again in the fall.
