SPAAR’s Housing Book Club met with Author Jamie Madden

This spring, SPAAR’s Housing Book Club read Bittersweet Lane: Creating Homes(s) in the American Affordable Housing Crisis.

The book, written by Jamie Madden – a community development professional with expertise in housing development, public policy and real estate finance –blends gripping memoir with sharp policy insights to expose the brutal history of housing in the U.S.—and the tools that already exist to fix it.

On May 14, SPAAR’s Housing Book Club was joined by author Jamie Madden to discuss his book, his experiences working on housing issues, what he thinks are the biggest obstacles to resolving our housing crisis, and the best solutions to overcome them.
