SPAAR supports teachers and classrooms
SPAAR - 11/10/2023
At the beginning of this school year, SPAAR put out a call to more than 500 schools in SPAAR’s service area with information about classroom resources. Teachers were invited to share their online wish lists (Target, Amazon, etc.) for a chance to receive $100 in items from their respective lists. Twenty gifts were awarded to teachers in schools located in White Bear Lake, Otsego, Blaine, Farmington, Cottage Grove, Hastings and Shakopee. Classrooms received art supplies, books and more. Two classrooms received floor rockers and lap desks to assist students who have special needs.
These gifts were coordinated by SPAAR’s Community Engagement Committee.
In response to the program, SPAAR received much gratitude from teachers with notes that echo the following:
“Thank you so, so much! This is so amazing and will be so extremely helpful!"
-and-
“I received a box full of goodies for my classroom yesterday and just wanted to reach out and say THANK YOU so very much! All of the items you purchased off my classroom wish list will go to great use. My 2nd graders are going to be so excited to see all the new things today. Thank you again for the support!”
