Save the date: SPAAR Shred and e-Cycle Day will be August 14

Back this year will be both document shredding and technology recycling as SPAAR introduces its Shred and e-Cycle Day to be held on Friday, August 14, from 9am to 12pm at SPAAR (325 Roselawn Avenue East).

This free event for SPAAR Realtor® and Affiliate members is a convenient, secure way to dispose of sensitive documents and recycle outdated electronics. The event offers a safe, responsible solution for items such as computers, monitors, printers and confidential paperwork.

Materials will be processed by Recycle Technologies, Inc., an R2v3 certified electronics recycler, which ensures secure recycling, reuse and refurbishment with strict environmental, data security and safety standards. Take advantage of this opportunity to protect information while supporting responsible recycling practices.

Items accepted:

Electronics: Computers, laptops, monitors (CRT & flat screen), TVs, printers, copiers, scanners, phones, gaming systems, stereos, speakers, small electronics, and accessories such as cables and keyboards.
Batteries: Alkaline, lithium, lithium-ion, NiCd, NiMH, and lead-acid batteries, including cell phone and car batteries.
Secure Destruction: Paper documents for shredding and hard drives for secure destruction.

Items NOT accepted:
• Liquids or chemicals
• Furniture
• Refrigerators
• Air conditioners
• Dehumidifiers
• Freon-containing items
• Large appliances (washers, dryers, dishwashers, stoves)
• Medical waste or hazardous materials
