Peter Butler is named Realtor® Champion of the Month for March 2026

Coon Rapids City Councilmember Peter Butler is SPAAR’s March 2026 Realtor® Champion of the Month.

Peter was first elected to the City Council in 2024 following SPAAR’s endorsement. With a background in state and local government finance, he also serves as Budget Director for the Aging and Disability Services Administration within the Minnesota Department of Human Services.

In addition to his professional work, Peter serves on the Coon Rapids Sustainability Commission and volunteers with the Reading Bridge program through the Anoka County Library. His dedication to public service is evident in his ongoing commitment to strengthening and serving his community.

Peter and his wife purchased their first home in Coon Rapids and plan to make it their forever home.

Peter is a strong ally to SPAAR and local Realtors®, with a clear focus on economic development and expanding housing opportunities in Coon Rapids. During his campaign, he emphasized the importance of preserving the city’s middle-class character:

“This (Coon Rapids) is a middle-class suburb where we are proud to have dedicated teachers, nurses, firefighters and other hardworking people as our neighbors. It's a fantastic place to raise a family… But to keep it that way, we need to focus on policies for the City to expand our tax base through economic development. We can do this through attracting new businesses, supporting existing business and tackling the astronomically high costs of housing to help seniors stay in their homes while supporting young people on their journey to afford their first house. We need to ensure Coon Rapids is an affordable place for everyone.”

It’s this attitude, to continue to grow Coon Rapids, while aiming to make it more affordable for everyone, especially when it comes to housing, that makes Coon Rapids Councilmember Peter Butler a Realtor® Champion.
