Oakdale Mayor Kevin Zabel is SPAAR’s May 2026 Realtor® Champion of the Month.

Mayor Zabel was first elected in 2022, earning SPAAR’s endorsement in that race. Prior to becoming mayor, he served the City of Oakdale on its Planning Commission and completed two terms on the City Council.

Throughout his time in public office, Mayor Zabel has been a consistent advocate and ally for the Realtor® community and SPAAR. He has championed smart growth initiatives, supported expanded transit options in Oakdale and recognize the importance of a diverse range of housing types to meet the region’s needs. Mayor Zabel always reaffirms Oakdale’s support for Fair Housing, again adopting SPAAR’s Fair Housing Month proclamation in April 2026.

Having worked for Minnesota Realtors® for more than five years, it’s no surprise that Mayor Zabel has such a strong understanding of the issues facing his community and the broader region. He has a particular understanding of the importance and value that Realtors® provide.
