July 2025 Realtor® Champion of the Month: Amáda Márquez Simula

Columbia Heights Mayor Amáda Márquez Simula is SPAAR's July 2025 Realtor® Champion of the Month.

Mayor Márquez Simula is only the second Latina mayor in Minnesota's history. She sought the role in 2020 when fellow community members encouraged her to run for office based on her steadfast volunteerism and outspoken support for residents from all walks of life.

Mayor Márquez Simula has been an ally to the Realtor® community by working to keep property taxes as low as possible, fostering a healthier and more environmentally safe place for residents, and supporting housing and business development in her community.

At a city council meeting on July 14, Mayor Márquez Simula and the Columbia Heights City Council resolved to accept grant funding from SPAAR's Key Communities Program to create and promote multilingual resources for present and future homeowners in Columbia Heights.
