Jim Cormier receives NAR Distinguished Service Award

Jim Cormier has been awarded among the highest honors by the National Association of REALTORS®! By the conclusion of the NAR Board of Directors meeting in Washington DC on June 5, Jim Cormier was named a 2025 Distinguished Service Award (DSA) recipient.

The DSA is NAR’s highest honor, outside of the presidency, and recognizes an unwavering commitment to the organization and real estate industry, of which Jim has been instrumental for 46 years.

An innovator and passionate champion of private property rights and the real estate industry, Jim has given back time and again over the years, working to make a difference for others.

He served as president of the North Metro REALTORS® in 2002 (before the merger of local Associations) and later helped to accomplish the merger that created the Saint Paul Area Association of REALTORS® (SPAAR). He was president of Minnesota Realtors® in 2013 and NAR regional vice president for Region 8 in 2016.

At NAR, he’s a two-time RPAC disbursement liaison and has served on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee. His NAR involvement dates to 2002 when he joined the Land Use, Property Rights and Environment Committee, and his passion for property rights and political action is a thread that runs through his NAR volunteer service, including several years as a federal political coordinator. He is a Golden “R” and President’s Circle member and, in 2011, was inducted into the REALTORS® Political Action Committee Hall of Fame.

Beyond real estate, Jim has been an active supporter of charities in his community helping families in need have safe, stable and affordable homes. He has served as a director for the Allina Mercy Hospital Foundation and as a director at Falcon National Bank in Ham Lake, where he resides with his wife, Madonna.
