Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
"Martin Luther King Jr is the symbol of equality and pacifism. When I think about him, I think about his journey and the people that were with him, fighting for a society that should naturally be free from discrimination or hate, because after all, we are all humans, just different colors. His greatest impact is painting that very natural world where people are not judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. Martin Luther King paved the way, but there’s still so much more work to be continually done in diversity, equity and inclusion."
-Lou Thao, 2021 Chair of SPAAR's Committee for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
