Electronic Lockboxes: SentriLock conversion coming soon

The Saint Paul Area Association of REALTORS® (SPAAR) and Minneapolis Area REALTORS® (MAR) are excited to share that our Boards of Directors have selected SentriLock as our new electronic lockbox provider beginning in fall 2026.

While the transition will not take place until November 2026, this important technology update will affect all agents who use electronic lockboxes throughout the greater Twin Cities region. More information will be shared in the coming weeks; in the meantime, learn more about this decision below.

Why a conversion?

MAR and SPAAR have collaborated for years to operate a single lockbox system for the greater Twin Cities region in the best interests of our collective 17,000 members and the consumers they serve. With our shared contract with Supra coming to an end, and knowing that Supra would also soon be implementing a technology change, a conversion with either vendor would have been inevitable. MAR and SPAAR took this opportunity to conduct a thorough, multi-month evaluation of both Supra and SentriLock that included product demonstrations, webinars, broker engagement and member feedback.

This evaluation resulted in MAR and SPAAR's member-led Boards selecting Sentrilock as our electronic lockbox partner. We’re excited about this next chapter and grateful for the many years of partnership we had with Supra.

What happens next?

While every agent who uses electronic lockboxes and key service will need to make the transition to SentriLock, the associations are committed to making the process as straightforward as possible through exchange events, training opportunities and step-by-step resources. Current Supra services will continue uninterrupted while we prepare for this November transition.

SPAAR, MAR and our partners from Sentrilock will be on site to assist with the lockbox conversion and make this transition as seamless as possible.

We will soon share more information about the lockbox exchange. In the meantime, you can begin to prepare by:

• Reviewing our Electronic Lockbox Updates page for an FAQ and additional information about this change
• Confirming your assigned Supra lockbox inventory on Supra Web (if you’re a Supra user)
• Watching for future communications regarding exchange events and training

We are grateful to you, and to the hundreds of agents and brokers who took time to attend lockbox demonstrations, participate in webinars, test both lockbox options, and provide honest feedback. Your input greatly informed this critical vendor decision.
