Community Land Trusts receive increased attention; learn more at brokers open on November 21

SPAAR - 11/20/2023

Community Land Trusts—CLTs---are receiving increased attention as a creative way to address increased housing prices. Are they a good fit for clients? What are the benefits and limitations of CLT properties?

Members of SPAAR’s Housing Affordability Task Force recently toured a Roseville property being rehabbed by Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity. The house was acquired by a partnership of St. Paul-based Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity and Rondo CLT. The City of Roseville has promoted this program to residents interested in selling their homes and the city has also approved funding for purchase and repair of land trust properties.
