City of Oakdale housing grant and loan programs available

SPAAR - 05/10/2026

The City of Oakdale has partnered with the Washington County Community Development Agency (CDA), to offer eligible homebuyers and homeowners with financial assistance through two grant and loan programs. The First-Generation Homebuyer Grant Program provides up to $10,000 in grants for residents to purchase a home in Oakdale. The $5,000 CDA grant is available to first-generation homebuyers who earn up to 115% of area median income and meet eligibility requirements to purchase a home in Washington County. The Oakdale program matches the CDA grant up to $5,000. A first-generation homebuyer and their spouse or co-borrower must have never owned a home, and their parents or legal guardians must never have owned a home or lost their home due to foreclosure.

Through the Repair and Renovate Program, homeowners are eligible for up to $10,000 in forgivable loans for eligible home repairs including replacing an aging roof, repairing plumbing or electrical work, accommodating a disability, correcting building code violations, replacing exterior doors or windows, or removing trees that pose a safety risk to the home. This program serves eligible households with incomes up to 115% of the area median income and includes homeowners of manufactured housing. Loans may be forgivable after three years.

For more information about these programs and eligibility requirements, visit the City of Oakdale CDA webpage.
