Word on the Street results to the following: Some Realtors® say the spring market begins after the Super Bowl. When do you consider the start of the spring market, and why?

Each year is unique and different factors weigh in from the weather, the market, the need for change and more. Here are some thoughts from the experts -- Realtors® themselves -- and what kicks off the spring market. Among the many answers were the following:

• I believe the spring market begins after the New Year. Buyers and sellers have the holidays behind them and have set new inspiring goals for the New Year, which may include changes to housing or increasing their net worth through real estate.
• I always feel as though something shifts around the first of February. I tell my potential sellers they are best to be listed by then.
• Mid-February (after Super Bowl) or early March. It depends on the weather!
• I think the so-called spring market will start in mid or late March. Weather, socioeconomic and political factors as well as the emotional overload many feel in trying to navigate around today’s politics are all factors.
• There is a pickup after the Super Bowl, but the true spring market usually begins when we have a warmer weekend in late March or early April.
