SPAAR to partner with My Very Own Bed for two service opportunities

My Very Own Bed (MVOB) gives children their very own bed—a place to sleep, dream and recharge. All too often, children transitioning to permanent housing are sleeping on the floor, an air mattress or sharing a bed with their parents or siblings. With volunteer support, MVOB gives children a space of their own while supporting productive sleep to help them learn and grow.

SPAAR will be partnering with MVOB for two service opportunities in September 18 and 19, and SPAAR members are invited to participate on one or both days.

DAY ONE: HELP ASSEMBLE BEDS and FRAMES

Wednesday, September 18, 10am to 12pm: register here!

Help make the bed—literally! SPAAR’s volunteer team will assemble bed frames. No special skills or experience required. Tools and supplies will be provided.

DAY TWO: HELP DELIVER BEDS and DREAM KITS

Thursday, September 19, 9am to 12:30pm: register here!

Help deliver bed frames to families--and children—who need them. SPAAR’s volunteer team will deliver and set up bed frames, mattresses and Dream Kits.* No special skills or experience required. Volunteers will lift and transport mattresses. Tools and supplies will be provided. *A Dream Kit includes a mattress pad, bedding for a twin size bed, stuffed animal and more!
