SPAAR recognizes members who embody the Better Agents, Better Communities tagline.  Some awards are announced throughout the year, while others are reserved for a special recognition at the Winter Social in January. If you have someone in mind you feel is deserving for any of the following recognitions, be sure to submit your nominations before the deadline!

SPAAR is seeking nominations for the following awards:

REALTOR® of the Year Award

The REALTOR® of the Year Award honors an individual who has made significant contributions to the Association, the real estate profession and the community.

Nominee must...

• be a Saint Paul Area Association of REALTORS® member.
• have made contributions that show outstanding dedication to the real estate industry.
• show dedication to the real estate profession and uphold a professional business reputation.
• show involvement in the greater real estate community through State or National REALTOR® organizations and/or affiliated groups.
• be involved in non-real estate related community service activities.

Deadline to submit nomination: November 15, 2021.

SPAAR Affiliate of the Year Award

The SPAAR Affiliate of the Year award recognizes the commitment and dedication of a SPAAR Affiliate member.

Nominee must...

• be a Saint Paul Area Association of Affiliate member.
• have made contributions that show outstanding dedication to the real estate industry.
• show dedication to the real estate profession and uphold a professional business reputation.
• show involvement in the greater real estate community through State or National REALTOR® organizations and/or affiliated groups.
• be involved in non-real estate related community service activities.

The William Tschohl/James Stanton Distinguished Service Award

The William Tschohl / James Stanton Distinguished Service Award was established to honor a SPAAR REALTOR® member who has provided outstanding contributions and service to the real estate industry and to their local community.

Nominee must...

• have made contributions that show outstanding dedication to the real estate industry.
• show dedication to the real estate profession and uphold a professional business reputation.

SPAAR Good Neighbor Award for building Better Communities

BETTER Agents building BETTER Communities are the foundations REALTORS® stand on in a successful business. SPAAR recognizes the importance of BETTER Communities by focusing on our members’ community engagement efforts and their contributions in community service through leadership and volunteering with local organizations. Each year SPAAR recognizes one member who stands out in giving back to a local community organization and who provides outstanding service by presenting them with the SPAAR Good Neighbor Award for building Better Communities. A financial contribution of $1,000 is awarded to the recipient’s charitable organization of choice.

• Nominee must be a REALTOR® or Affiliate member in good standing with the Saint Paul Area Association of REALTORS®.
• Nominee should be a recognized leader in some community endeavor. His or her contributions to a program and/or an organization should result in improving the quality of life in our service area and serve to demonstrate he or she cares about the total well-being of the community.
• The award is designed to recognize individual contributions; however, if an individual within a company is instrumental to the triumph of a group effort, he or she is eligible.

SPAAR Good Neighbor Award Form

SPAAR Hero Award

Each month SPAAR recognizes a member or member team for their community involvement and to shine a light on the many good things REALTORS® are doing in the community every day.

SPAAR Hero is a program of SPAAR’s Community Engagement Committee, sponsored by SPAAR’s REALTORS® Charitable Foundation. Members of SPAAR’s Communications Committee interview and write the SPAAR Hero articles.

SPAAR Golden Rule Award

This program was created for SPAAR members to recognize fellow members for going above and beyond in their day-to-day lives. For example, if someone in an office is always there for other members answering questions or giving helpful ideas, he or she would be deserving of this recognition. Another example would be if a colleague offered to help out when a key didn’t work at a property. These are just two of countless examples of members going above and beyond. The nomination should show that the members’ actions fall under The Golden Rule: “Whatsoever ye would that others should do to you, do ye even so to them.” (This message is taken from the Preamble of the Code of Ethics)
