Year off to promising start with gains in listings and sales
According to new data from the Saint Paul Area Association of REALTORS® and Minneapolis Area REALTORS®, which provide a joint housing report to local media each month, both buyer and seller activity rose in January. Sales rose from low levels as mortgage rates softened making sellers more confident about listing their homes.

In 2023, higher interest rates continued to weigh on market activity, yet prices are still up. 23-year high mortgage rates and rising prices increased monthly housing costs and slowed buyer activity.
Sales flatten and prices remain higher, meanwhile new listings rise and rates ease
According to new data from Minneapolis Area REALTORS® and the Saint Paul Area Association of REALTORS®, metro-wide home prices rose slightly in November. Sales activity was flat as mortgage rates softened slightly and new listings were up 5.3%.
Homes for sale down in Twin Cities, up slightly statewide
Minneapolis Area Realtors and the St. Paul Area Association of Realtors also put out a report on the Twin Cities regional market. While new listings throughout the state were up, new listings in the Twin Cities declined 1.1% in October, although the report notes that this is the lowest decline since May 2022.
Prices on the rise again after flattening out; seller activity may be stabilizing
(September 15, 2023) – According to new data from Minneapolis Area REALTORS® and the Saint Paul Area Association of REALTORS®, home prices rose modestly in August. Both buyer and seller activity were lower compared to last year.
