The Final Introduction of SPAAR’s 2022 Board of Directors: Meet 2022 President Mark Mason

SPAAR - 01/06/2023

As a kid who wanted to build stuff when he grew up, the career path from civil engineer to investor to Realtor® may be no surprise.

Mark has been in the real estate business for 14 years; he started out in 2008 by purchasing rental properties.

“Be an investor first, Realtor® second," says Mark when reflecting on advice he'd give his younger self, adding he did a lot of home renovations and then sold the homes. "I should have kept more of them.”

Mark has a strong appreciation for quality construction, saying his favorite architectural home style is the traditional style built with top-quality materials. He considers Accessible Beige the best go-to-paint color, adding that Passive Gray is the color he selects for most of the homes he flips. Similarly, when it comes to staging homes, Mark says “less is more. Floor space makes the rooms look larger in photos.”

When asked if he prefers cats or dogs, Mark didn’t hesitate to say he’s 100 percent a “dog” person.

When Mark isn’t busy with his real estate work, he can be found golfing or traveling or listening to acoustic country music, which he says can be found on his playlist.

The SPAAR Board of Directors provides strategic direction, leadership and guidance for the Association and its committees. Thank you, Mark, for your work with SPAAR and for serving as SPAAR’s 2022 President.

Thank you, Mark, for your Board leadership. In addition, thank you to all of the 2022 Board of Directors, including Diana Allen, Tracy Baglio, Jason Cassel, Joshua Drivdahl, Chelsea Erickson, Patti Jo Fitzpatrick, Brandy Grell, Robbie Grossman, Shelley Johnson, Mary Knudsen, Brianne Lawrence, Jennifer Livingston, Danielle Pelton, Amy Peterson, Patrick Ruble, Peter Sparr, Nicko Spehn and Lou Thao.
