Take part in Learning from Place: Bdote, an immersive experience
SPAAR - 09/14/2025
Join SPAAR’s Committee for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion to learn about Dakota culture and history on Thursday, October 2, from 7:30am to 3pm. Due to the nature, serious content, and length of the day, this workshop is not intended for young children.
Learning from Place: Bdote is an immersive experience that brings participants to sites of great significance to Dakota people in the Twin Cities. Participants will learn from Dakota community members through stories and histories that have often been left out of our state’s history. Do diverse ethnic and cultural groups experience similar challenges and barriers?
Register here for the Bdode event. The cost is $25 per person.
This experience is open to members of SPAAR. Participants will travel by bus to locations in the St. Paul area. SPAAR will coordinate transportation, lunch, snacks and beverages. Note: if unable to commit for the full day, participants will need to arrange alternate transportation.
Learning From Place: Bdote is coordinated by SPAAR's Committee for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion with generous financial support from NorthstarMLS and the National Association of REALTORS®. Learning From Place: Bdote was developed by the Minnesota Humanities Center.
