Update

On March 1, 2021, the Saint Paul S.A.F.E. Tenant Protections was implemented. You can find resources for both Saint Paul tenants and landlords here. Due to the change in Saint Paul, the Minnesota Realtors® has also changed the language on the Residential Lease Form in regards to the Just Cause section of the ordinance.

According to the ordinance, “The landlord under this lease shall not unilaterally terminate or attempt to terminate the tenancy of any tenant unless the landlord can prove in court that Just Cause exists. The reasons for Termination of Tenancy listed in the City of Saint Paul’s Just Cause Notice (Sec. 193.05), and no others, shall constitute Just Cause under this provision”.
