Sarah Abbott is a SPAAR Hero!

SPAAR - 04/14/2025

SPAAR member Sarah Abbott believes it is everyone’s responsibility to help other members within our community thrive so everyone can experience safe and healthy environments.

Sarah’s beliefs are evidenced through her multiple volunteer endeavors that include volunteering on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) committees at both SPAAR and Edina Realty, the latter where she serves as ambassador for the Eagan office.

Sarah also volunteers for the Community Aid Network (CANMN), which is a volunteer-led mutual aid site in Minneapolis that distributes items to 100-150 families each week with a goal to ensure everyone has the means for dignified survival. Solidarity, rather than charity, is the goal of CANMN.

“Nobody should struggle to eat. Everyone deserves to have a pillow, blanket and a safe space to rest their head at night,” said Sarah, a Minneapolis resident for more than 20 years who became a licensed Realtor® a year and a half ago. Sarah grew up in a small Indiana town with 2,000 residents and feels lucky to have been raised in a home where the virtue of helping your neighbor was a priority.

Sarah has worked in various industries over the years, and considers herself a jack of all trades, including having managed a donut shop to working in transitional housing in Oregon where she helped teens and adults who were experiencing homelessness get info safe housing. Her ability to counsel people to get into positive living situations was instrumental to her becoming a Realtor® and continues to allow her to use those skills.

“I’m fortunate to assist people from all walks of life in accomplishing their dreams of homeownership,” said Sarah, who believes advocating for and taking action to support those in their time of need is important. “There are few joys greater than getting to be a part of the homebuying journey with people who never thought it would be possible to obtain keys for a home of their own.”

Congratulations, Sarah, on being named SPAAR Hero!
