Results announced for SPAAR Bylaws vote

SPAAR members who are REALTORS® had the opportunity to vote from August 14-16 on potential changes to the SPAAR Bylaws. Below are the vote results as well as a recap of the two actions that were voted upon.

Action 1 focused on the following as related to the SPAAR Bylaws:

329 revisions, updates and clarifications to definitions and terms
Do not alter any operations, policies or otherwise change SPAAR’s governance
Changes “non-substantive” and are a matter of “housekeeping”

Action 2 focused on the following as related to the SPAAR Bylaws:

Changes that have a tangible impact on SPAAR’s operations and governance structure.

Update to reflect how affiliates are being billed for membership
Change to reflect board seats for the chairs of all standing committees
Update definition of “participant” and “MLS” to align with mandatory changes from NAR settlement
Add a provision that will allow licensed real estate agents and appraisers who are not REALTORS® to participate in the Regional Multiple Listing Service of Minnesota (NorthstarMLS)

The quorum requirements for a membership vote were met and the following are the results of the votes cast:

Action 1: PASSED with 89.44 % voting in favor

Action 2: PASSED with 66.44 % voting in favor
