In recognition of Homeownership Month in June, SPAAR’s Committee for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion donated copies of its exhibit, Owning Up!, to local nonprofits that provide Home Stretch consumer education classes. Recipients include Minnesota Homeownership Center, NeighborWorks Home Partners and Project for Pride in Living (PPL), the latter which was a REALTORS® Charitable Foundation grant recipient in 2022.

Owning Up was commissioned by the committee in 2019 and describes past practices in real estate that contributed to disparities in rates of homeownership by people of color. The exhibit is displayed at Home Stretch classes, which are eight-hour homebuyer education workshops created to prepare class participants for the homebuying process.
