Office Staff and Unlicensed Assistants fees FAQ

NorthstarMLS billing includes individuals who are in the Office Staff (OS) and Unlicensed Assistant (UA) roles effective January 1, 2025. These roles are billed $45 on a quarterly basis, which equates to $15 per month.

SPAAR recommends Office Staff (OS) and Unlicensed Assistants (UA) talk with their broker(s) and agent(s) to determine who will be responsible for paying this new fee. The first quarter MLS billing was sent out on December 2, 2024.

The new fee is the result of a change from a third-party vendor to NorthstarMLS, resulting in NorthstarMLS and SPAAR passing on the fee to the OS and UA roles.

FAQ

May I pay annually for my agent?

Not at this time as SPAAR adjusts to this change. Annual payments may be an option in the future and will be communicated if implemented.

Is this payment transferable from one agent to another?

No. Fees are not transferable from one individual to another; however, any full month payment that is not used will be refunded to the card from which it was paid. Partial months used will not be refunded.

What is the process if an individual starts in the middle of a billing quarter?

Prorated billing, on a monthly basis, will be accepted for individuals who start their role within a billing quarter.
