New fees for Office Staff and Unlicensed Assistants in 2025

Beginning with the first quarter 2025 NorthstarMLS billing, individuals who are in the Office Staff (OS) and Unlicensed Assistant (UA) roles will be billed $45 on a quarterly basis, which equates to $15 per month.

SPAAR recommends Office Staff (OS) and Unlicensed Assistants (UA) talk with their broker(s) and agent(s) to determine who will be responsible for paying this new fee. The first quarter MLS billing will be sent out on December 2, 2024.

The new fee is the result of a change from a third-party vendor to NorthstarMLS, resulting in NorthstarMLS and SPAAR passing on the fee to the OS and UA roles.

No. Fees are not transferable from one individual to another; however, any full month payment that is not used will be refunded to the card from which it was paid. Partial months used will not be refunded.

What is the process if an individual starts in the middle of a billing quarter?

Prorated billing, on a monthly basis, will be accepted for individuals who start their role within a billing quarter.
