Introducing SPAAR’s 2022 Board of Directors: Meet Mary Knudsen

SPAAR - 12/19/2022

Mary Knudsen began her career in real estate in 2001 when her sons were 18 months and four years old.

They were occasionally her sidekicks accompanying her on showings. Mary met many of her clients as they were the parents of her kids’ school classmates and Little League teammates over the years. Today, Mary has the pleasure to work with her sons’ friends as they’re purchasing their first homes.

Although her boys are no longer her showing sidekicks, her 12-year-old Viszla mix, Lily, occasionally takes on the role of companion on nicer-weather days, remaining in the car during showings.

“Real estate is a strange business that requires attention even when on vacation or out to dinner,” says Mary who, along with her husband, love to travel and recently returned from a fabulous trip to Zimbabwe in Southern Africa. In fact, Mary and her husband met at an open house. “One of the perks of having your partner in the business is they never get upset when you have to do work activities while on vacation.”

A most-used app of Mary’s is a measuring app, which she says comes in handy when trying to determine if a garage is large enough or if a king bed will fit in a room.

Jokes Mary, “like most of us, my phone is a critical part of my business and sometimes it feels like another appendage.”

The SPAAR Board of Directors provides strategic direction, leadership and guidance for the Association and its committees. Thank you, Mary, for your work with SPAAR.
