Darcy McDonald is a SPAAR Hero!

Darcy McDonald is a hero in financial literacy and is being recognized for her invaluable contributions to the Minnesota Council on Economic Education (MCEE), where she has dedicated her time and expertise to coaching on financial literacy as part of a program for young people. Her commitment extends beyond MCEE as she also serves on the Board of Directors for the Minnesota Homeownership Center, demonstrating her unwavering dedication to improving financial education and home ownership opportunities in her community.

Darcy's journey began with a degree in Speech Communication from Saint Cloud State University, which paved the way for a successful career in sales. Since 1994, she has been a loan officer, gaining extensive experience in generating and managing loans, as well as mentoring others in the field. Despite her accomplishments in the financial sector, Darcy's true passion lies in teaching. Her enthusiasm for educating people about credit and its mechanisms is evident and whenever she speaks on the subject her face lights up with excitement.

In addition to her volunteer work with MCEE, Darcy spent a decade as a part-time instructor for Kaplan where she helped aspiring Realtors® obtain their licenses. Currently, she works at Wings Credit Union as a producing mortgage sales manager and is always ready to offer credit advice and encouragement to anyone in need.
