Our Government Affairs team works to make sure both REALTORS® and homeowners are represented in government.
In addition, the Government Affairs Committee works to expand the Association’s sphere of influence in local, regional, state and national public policy areas focusing on issues affecting communities throughout the Association’s jurisdiction.
Candidate endorsement interviews are on the horizon
SPAAR has begun its 2024 candidate endorsement process, and the advocacy team is looking for volunteers for candidate interviews taking place in mid-September.

SPAAR present at Contracts for Deed field hearing held at UST
SPAAR’s Government Affairs Directors, along with Senator Tina Smith, Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan, and Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, attended the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFBP) field hearing on Contracts for Deed at the University of St. Thomas on August 13.

NAR’s Sustainability Summit in 2024 was held on June 4th and 5th in Minneapolis, bringing Realtors®, property managers, appraisers, brokers, and other stakeholders together to learn about and discuss sustainability in housing and real estate.
