Amanda Cox Zuppan is SPAAR Hero!

SPAAR - 12/09/2024

Amanda Cox Zuppan first wanted to become a Realtor® because she loves to help people; she especially loves to help individuals and families realize that their dreams of homeownership are attainable. Beyond her work in real estate, Amanda is an active community volunteer for which she was named a SPAAR Hero.

Amanda was a longtime volunteer with People Serving People, an organization that provides services and resources to children experiencing homelessness with a focus to help them end their cycle of homelessness. People serving People is the largest and most comprehensive emergency shelter for families in Minnesota where 62% of those served are children and youth ages 18 and younger. She served there weekly from 2011-2020, when Covid policies temporarily closed the volunteer program.

Amanda began volunteering with Feed My Starving Children in 2021, an organization that provides nutritious meals to communities around the world that are experiencing chronic hunger and poverty; in fact, Feed My Starving Children has reached more than 70 countries.

Amanda donates a portion of her commission on each sale to sponsor and feed a child for a year. The donation is made in the name of her client.

“I have a passion for empowering others to achieve their dreams and goals,” said Amanda, who has been a Realtor® for 12 years and has faced challenges of her own, which helped her realize the importance of giving back and helping others who need it. “Everyone needs help at some point in their lives and it’s important to lend that helping hand when we are able. Small gifts, whether money, services or time, can have a huge impact on the community when given regularly over time.”

Amanda added that she’s made lifelong connections and friendships through her community service work and has also volunteered with Bridging, Open Arms, American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, Hands Across Ecuador, Nurses for the Nations and SPAAR where she will serve as the 2025 Chair of the Communications Committee. Prior to becoming a fulltime Realtor®, Amanda was a professional dancer/instructor. She and her husband, Matt, are parents to their two-year-old son, Charlie, and seven-year-old bonus daughter, Ariela, and reside in Shoreview.

Congratulations, Amanda, on being named SPAAR Hero. SPAAR Hero is a program of SPAAR’s Community Engagement Committee, sponsored by SPAAR’s REALTORS® Charitable Foundation. Members of SPAAR’s Communications Committee interview and write the SPAAR Hero articles, including this interview by Lynne Violett.
