The Odd Couple Team Is Named SPAAR Hero

The Odd Couple Team has their office on St. Paul’s trendy Grand Avenue and credits their team’s success to “helping individuals and families navigate the process (of homeownership) and their love of being stewards of the community.”

Now they can add another credit to their name as SPAAR Hero for August 2020. Founders Shane Montoya, CEO, and Jason Koenig, CFO, have been life partners for 23 years and, together with their team that also includes Realtors® John Ahnemann, Lara Duddingston,  Elizabeth Gust, Jane Kahnke,  Austin Kordosky,  Paul Olson,  Ryan Radtke and Corbyn Tao, they are active in the community and involved in a number of charitable organizations.

Each month, the Odd Couple Team serves two meals for the Cooks for Kids program at Ronald McDonald House (RMH) in St. Paul. They have collected more than $10,000 worth of food for RMH pantries since the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis and have a personal connection as RMH took care of Shane’s nephew since his birth and today, six years later, he is going strong!

The Odd Couple Team provides support for Keystone Community Services, which provides support for young people, families, seniors with food services and crisis support. Joseph’s Coat, a free store on West 7th Street that serves all ages, ethnic and cultural backgrounds including low-income families who may be new immigrants, unemployed or the working poor, is another organization that receives support from the Odd Couple Team and is important to team member Lara Duddingston because Joseph’s Coat takes care of residents that live and work in the community.

Another organization that has a personal interest for the team is the National Kidney Foundation as team member Jason Koenig’s mother died from complications of kidney disease after 19 years of kidney dialysis.

These examples demonstrate just a few of the reasons why the Odd Couple Team received the SPAAR Hero honor. Congratulations!
