Better Agents. SPAAR believes in helping to create the best possible professional agents, by offering opportunity for agents grow their leadership skills. From leadership programs like Leadership SPAAR, to leadership positions on many different committees, and even a Toastmasters chapter, SPAAR has something for every agent in any point of their career.
Advancing in Leadership: Opportunities
Leadership SPAAR is designed to identify emerging REALTOR® leaders and empower them to use their full leadership potential. In addition to advancing participants’ efforts to build successful real estate careers, Leadership SPAAR expands the pool of candidates for future Association leadership by introducing participants to the committee/leadership structure, strategic objectives and the practices SPAAR employs to achieve its goal of fostering Better Agents, Better Communities.
The committees at the Saint Paul Area Association of REALTORS® are all comprised of volunteer members. These positions offer members a chance to apply their interests and use their talents to strengthen their leadership skills while guiding the Association’s directives. List of committees: Affiliate, Diversity, Communications, Community Engagement, Professionalism, Government Affairs, Metro YPN, and RPAC.
Leadership panel discussion
The panel discussions are designed to provide members the opportunity to hear first-hand from members who have chosen a leadership path through the local, state and national levels. The discussion will conclude with a Q&A session so members may ask questions that may help them determine their own unique path as they navigate Association opportunities.
Expected to begin in 2019, the SPAAR mentor program will match SPAAR past presidents and other veteran leaders with members seeking involvement in leadership roles. The mentor/mentee pairs will be matched based on professional interests and goal aspirations within the real estate industry.
C2EX (Commitment to Excellence)
The National Association of REALTORS® proudly introduces Commitment to Excellence (C2EX), a program to empower REALTORS® to demonstrate their professionalism and commitment to conducting business at the highest standards. REALTORS® defined professionalism in this industry more than 100 years ago when they created the Code of Ethics.
Officially launched on January 15, 2019, SPAAR has created its own chapter open to SPAAR members to help them enhance their speaking fluency and provide a non-threatening practice environment where members evaluate and are evaluated by their peers. Toastmasters helps build confidence for opportunities where speaking may be a critical component. Toastmasters seeks to help members strengthen their speaking skills as well as provide tools in time management and how to run an efficient meeting, all skills that can be applied in association leadership roles.
