Planting on the Bluffs

The Planting on the Bluffs project on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 9am to 12pm, is taking place due to significant erosion in the area that has led to degrading bluffs and poor water quality in the nearby Mississippi River. The native plants will encourage habitat recovery and stabilize the bluff soils, a critical piece to improving the bluffs. Participants will receive a light breakfast, snack and lunch will be provided. Participants must be age 12 or older, and pre-registration is required.  Sign up today!

The event is Saturday, Oct. 5, from 9am to 12pm at Lilydale Regional Park, 950 Lilydale Road, Saint Paul, MN  55118

SPAAR member China Chang launches Mrs. Hmong Pageant

SPAAR member China Chang believes in giving back to the community in which she’s worked hard in real estate for the past 21 years, since age 18, as a REALTOR®, mentor, coach and instructor. In 2018, China entered the Global United Pageant, a local beauty pageant system where she competed with delegates worldwide. On July 21, 2018, China was the first-ever married Hmong woman to be crowned in an American beauty pageant prompting China to launch the Mrs. Hmong Pageant to celebrate Hmong marriages, the married Hmong woman and Hmong sisterhood worldwide.

The Hmong community has been in the United States for more than 40 years and there has never been an organization to support the married Hmong woman. With her faith and support from her family, China found it in her heart to launch the Mrs. Hmong Pageant, for which China is both Founder and CEO. Nearly a year after being crowned herself, the Mrs. Hmong Pageant held its first-ever pageant on June 22, resulting in the crowning of three Mrs. Hmong queens who will continue giving back to the community in numerous ways.

China is also a member of the 2019 Leadership SPAAR. Congratulations, China, on your successes in real estate and in the community!

Mrs. Hmong pageant contestants along with Ramsey County Sheriff Bob Fletcher, Senator Foung Hawj, Judge Adam Yang and a few community leaders joined China Chang, SPAAR member, broker, and founder/CEO of American Dream Real Estate Experts, Inc., as she cut the ribbon for the first-ever Mrs. Hmong Pageant, which was held on June 22, 2019.
