THANK YOU FOR RENEWING YOUR MEMBERSHIP
This is your 2010 annual membership renewal billing statement. By renewing your membership you reaffirm your promises and obligations as set forth in your application for membership. Remember to pay by November 1, 2009 to avoid the late payment penalty.
The membership renewal billing statement includes the following charges:
ANNUAL RENEWAL CHARGES - These charges include your local, state and national dues. Your national dues include the mandatory image building campaign. All three (local, state and national) must be paid in order to renew your membership. If you forward any amount less than the total amount due, your check will be returned to you.
OPTIONAL CHARGES AND SERVICES - These charges may be included by voluntarily adding them to the amount you are paying in your dues. These option charges and services are:
Voluntary RPAC Contribution Disclosure - "Minnesota Association of REALTORS® collects contributions from members of the National Association REALTORS® for the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) for political activities. A portion of each contribution will be used for federal campaign purposes the remainder will be returned to the Minnesota REALTORS® Political Action Committee for use in state and local political activities. Contributions are VOLUNTARY and refusal to contribute does not affect membership rights. A member may contribute more or less than the suggested amount. The entire contribution is charged against an individual's federal contribution limits under 2USC e441a." Contributions from LLCs (on LLC checks or using an LLC credit card) are not acceptable by MN-PAC and will be allocated 100% to National RPAC. SPAAR SuperPass - This is the best education value in the area. The SuperPass has been updated to better meet the needs of the membership. The price of the SuperPass is $99.00 for 15 hours of continuing education if purchased by February 15, 2010. The pass allows for 7.5 hours of online continuing education. MN/WI continuing education is also available with the SuperPass for an additional $20.00. Select classes from SPAAR's SuperPass catalogue to fulfill your continuing education requirements. Enjoy KAPLAN quality at member prices. The SuperPass is good through June 30, 2010. The discounted rate for the SuperPass expires February 15, 2010.

REALTORS® Issues Fund - RIF is your local political voice. RIF funds are used to make non-partisan contributions to local candidates for public office. Pledge your commitment to the future of the real estate industry by contributing your fair share to the REALTORS® Issues Fund.
REALTOR® Housing Foundation - The RHF has contributed over $80,000.00 in the past ten years to housing-related charities. Your contribution brightens lives and improves the REALTOR® image.
Important Income Tax Information: Dues payable to the St. Paul Area Association of REALTORS® are not deductible as charitable contributions for Federal Tax purposes (Your voluntary contributions to the REALTORS® Housing Foundation is tax deductible as a charitable contribution for Federal Tax purposes). Such payments may, however, be deductible as an ordinary and necessary business expense. However, the portion of your dues used for lobbying activity is non-deductible for Federal Income Tax purposes. Use the formula below to calculate the total non-deductible amount of your dues:
Estimated Lobbying Expense Percentage of your Dues
National Association of REALTORS® 31% of $80.00 = $25.00
Minnesota Association of REALTORS® 20% of $130.00 = $26.00
*RPAC Contribution $50 of Renewal Amount = $50.00
St. Paul Area Association of REALTORS® 7% of $159.00 = $11.13
Total Non-Deductible Amount on Income Tax Return: $112.13
Your membership dues must be paid by November 1, 2009. If your payment is received after November 1, 2009, a $25.00 Late Payment Fee will be added to your bill. In accordance with the Bylaws, if your total bill is not paid by December 1, 2009, your membership in the Association and all services (including lock boxes and MLS) will be terminated on December 31, 2009. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS.
